Aerospace / Marine Composite Structures Engineer – US CITIZEN ONLY (Remote (US Only) & Onsite Opportunities)

Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain secret security clearance

Kinetic Aerospace Engineering Sciences is looking for a highly motivated, forward-thinking Composite Stress / FEA Engineer to join our team. KAES has been primarily supporting multiple DoD programs for several years. The analysis scope is wide, across multiple programs, providing a diversity of projects to work. Position Responsibilities:

• Analyze aircraft and marine primary and secondary structure. Analysis may include new design, mods, and/or rework of existing structure.
• Develop loads/stresses using finite element models ranging from coarse vehicle models to detailed stress/strain models.
• Perform analysis using classical and OEM methods as dictated by the aircraft platform and customer.
• Develop refined finite element models from coarse, vehicle loads models when classical methods are not sufficient.
• Familiar with structure sizing and trade studies in PDR/CDR phases.
• Efficient turnaround of analysis tasks to support fleet needs using a commonsense approach.
• Write clear, concise technical reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, or Ocean Engineering Preferred)
• 5+ years of experience
• US citizen with the ability to obtain secret security clearance
• Firm understanding of vehicle load path
• Ability to work from home in an efficient, self-disciplined manner
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and written
• Excellent computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree
• 10+ years of composite stress experience on DoD platforms
• Experience with DoD analysis and reporting requirements
• Experience with building composite models with Abaqus CAE
• CAD experience using Siemens NX, SolidWorks, and/or Catia
• Advanced use of MS Excel and VBA scripting
• Python
