Kinetic Aerospace Engineering Sciences is looking for a highly motivated, forward-thinking integration engineer that has a structures background with propulsion experience preferably on the F-35/F135 program in support of the ECU (Engine Core Upgrade). General experience with the OEM methods and approach is also acceptable. This is a long term, direct position that will also require supporting other programs in the future. KAES has been primarily supporting multiple DoD programs for several years. KAES has a wide scope of efforts, across multiple programs, which provides a diversity of projects to work. Position Responsibilities:

  • Support airworthiness decisions revolving around the ECU impact on the existing airframe
  • Perform review of OEM analysis packages which may include:
    • Static analysis of aircraft primary and secondary structure
    • Low cycle, high cycle, and thermal fatigue and crack growth analysis
    • Load development
    • Finite element models
  • Provide subject matter guidance during meetings
  • Write clear, concise technical reports

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Preferred)
  • 10+ years of related experience with respect to airframe structural integrity analysis (Not Production Support)
  • US citizen with the ability to obtain secret security clearance
  • Experience with DoD analysis and reporting requirements
  • Experience working with program offices and OEMs on contract requirements and deliverables
  • Ability to work from home in an efficient, self-disciplined manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and written
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Travel as needed

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree
  • 5+ years of propulsions and/or engine integration experience
  • Experience with MSC Patran, Apex, NASTRAN, and/or FEMAP
  • CAD experience using Siemens NX and/or Catia
  • Advanced use of MS Excel and VBA scripting
  • Experience with AFgrow or similar
  • Python
